Here's a link to a woman's blog called "Rage Against the Minivan." Her blog is great; I love reading it, so if you're looking for some more reading material, check her out. But this post in particular just broke my heart...and she expressed so eloquently why we should ALL be talking to our kids about race, regardless of whether we're an interracial family or not!

Dang it Emily. I wanted to go to bed 30 minutes ago. Instead I've been sitting here reading the blog. Love this chick. She reminded me of you on the "sleep, eat, play" complaint on one of her posts. This post in particular made me want to start having conversations with Owen though. I guess I've just been afraid that pointing it out or talking about it makes it a big deal and the next thing you know he's saying something that hurts a kid's feelings. I suppose NOT talking about it could lead to the same thing though.
